Diabetic Eye Exams

Those who have been diagnosed with diabetes should have a comprehensive eye exam after diagnosis for baseline.  After the initial exam, a yearly comprehensive exam is beneficial for evaluation of sight threatening changes from diabetes.  A diabetic eye exam will thoroughly assess the health of the eye with pupil dilation and help identify any changes related to diabetes.  We will assess for changes in eye muscle function, cataracts, glaucoma, macular edema, changes to blood vessels, bleeding or signs of retinal detachment.
